What’s On

“Elements in Time” - Sally Rhudy

September 1-30

Reception and Artist Talks: Saturday Sep 12, 5.00-7.30pm (talk at 6pm)

Jo Fleming Contemporary Art is delighted to present Elements in Time, a new exhibition of mixed-media abstract paintings by Maryland-based artist Sally Rhudy.

Drawing inspiration from ancient civilizations, lost knowledge and the enduring language of symbols, Rhudy’s richly layered paintings explore the relationship between humanity, time and the natural elements. Ancient glyphs, marks and fragments emerge and disappear beneath successive layers, creating works that feel at once archaeological yet bold, colorful and contemporary.

Rhudy is a British-born artist from a three-generation artistic family, trained at The Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. She has shown her work in galleries across the US, England, Scotland, and France, and has collaborated with organizations like the BBC, the Edinburgh Festival, and the International Congress for Design.

Also on show will be a selection of Rachel Waldron’s works that combine family photographs, drawing, painting and printmaking to explore the threads that connect generations.
