Born in England, Sally is the third generation of artists in her family. She attended The Glasgow School of Art in Scotland, recognized as one of the world’s leading art colleges. As well as painting, textiles and set design, Sally has worked on many art installations, environmental art projects and large-scale public arts events.

Now living in Maryland, Sally pursues her love for contemporary abstract painting. Layering paint, pastels, graphite and other materials, her abstract paintings weave a metaphysical collage of ideas, through color, symbolism, history, literature and environment.

Get up close and you will see detail, from handwritten ancient script, symbols, equations, micro anatomy or even blueprints and maps. Sally believes that the layers themselves are symbolic.

"We all have a lot more going on underneath than may show to the outside world. Humanity can be skin deep these days but underneath it all we all come from the same source, share the rich woven tapestry of antiquity. We all come from our Mother Earth and look up to the same sun."

Sally has worked on art installations, environmental art projects and large-scale public events. Commissioners include BBC Scotland, Edinburgh Festival, Edinburgh Film Festival, The International Congress for Design, fashion designer Jon Rocha as well as other private commissions. She has also been a creative adviser and artist for international arts events and design projects.

Her art and installations have featured in exhibitions in America, England, Scotland, and France.
