To coincide with the Annapolis Boat Shows and the passion of sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, “Freedom on the Water” features expressive paintings by Allen Bentley and Jo Fleming, as well as contemporary ceramic wall sculptures by Jeremy Jernegan.

Allen Bentley’s gestural brush marks used in his sailboat oil paintings, push and pull you on an exciting journey that connect you to the energy of sailing. Jo Fleming’s contemporary mixed media artworks present distinctive peaceful impressions of sailboats from the Chesapeake and Annapolis waters. Jeremy Jernegan, professor of ceramics at Tulane University, displays powerful wall sculptures that derive from his interest in flat signals and maritime navigation also addressing our delicate environment due to climate change.
