Dan Kuhne (b. 1942) is an expressionist and abstract artist from the Washington Color School painters. We are honored to represent a collection Danβs masterful oil paintings at Jo Fleming Contemporary Art gallery.
Greatly influenced by J.M.W. Turner and Eugene Delecroix, Kuhneβs creative process always begins with drawing. Drawing provides the skeletal structure that may be fleshed out in paintings, prints and drawings. His artwork reflects his emotions through his response to the land.
His work is in the permanent collections of The Baltimore Museum of Art, the Smithsonian Museum of American Art, the Katzen Museum of American University and The Phillips Collection.
