Beckie Laughlin is an Abstract Painter living and working in Frederick, Maryland. She is an alumna of the MFA program at American University in Washington, DC. She served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Art at Shepherd University, WV for several years. With a reference to natural forms, her work encapsulates the energy of the moment with layers of intuitive gestures. Recollected memories become evident in her work as well as painting’s capacity to make an unspoken connection with the viewer.

Her work has been shown for the past 50 years in exhibitions including at the American University Art Museum, DC, Artemesia, Chicago, Van Der Plas Gallery, New York City; Shepherd University, WV; School 33 Art Center, Baltimore, MD; Delaplaine Arts Center, Frederick, MD; Arlington Arts Center, VA. Collections include the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, New Jersey.
